Registration is now open for the 2022-2023 speed skating season!

Hello all,

We are excited that the registration process should be much smoother this year.  We are now set up for payment by credit card so your registration will be processed immediately.  This will be the preferred method of payment. On a case by case basis we may be able to process a limited amount of offline payments.  This will need to be registered on an individual basis with IceReg directly. 

As Denise mentioned, gear pick up will be next week.  Prior to gear pick up, please make sure that your registration is complete.  Skates will only be handed out once payment has been received.  

A couple of notes for registration.

1) PLEASE MAKE SURE TO SIGN UP ONE PARENT VOLUNTEER WHEN REGISTERING YOUR SKATER.  (When you finish your skater, press add another registration and then continue to add parent).   Choose parent volunteer/club membership.  Every family requires ONE parent volunteer.  This is a requirement from Speedskating Alberta.  There is a $20/fee to insure all volunteers.  The $25 Club Membership fee is attached to the parent volunteer.  This is not a fee for volunteering but a club membership per family.  We set it up this way so that families with more than one skater were not paying this fee more than once. 

2) Skate rental.  The default is to have skate rental included.  Please include for the skater (and leave it as 1 in the cart) but remove from the cart for parent volunteer.  

3) Yes, there are a lot of Waivers to fill.  For each skater and parent there are 3 separate waivers for Speedskating AB, Speedskating Canada and a club waiver so it might feel like you are filling out the same waivers more than once!    Please note that the CoVid waiver  is still from last year and will adapted as needed and this will be communicated to you.   The advice at the registrar meeting was to grab a glass of wine and go through the waivers.  Lol

Hopefully that covers the basics.  I will be on the road over the next few days so will not be able to answer questions until next week so hopefully this will get you started.
