ELLIS EDGE – registration is closed

2018 Ellis Edge camp is sold out, thanks for all the support.

Date:  October 12 – 14, 2018
Cost: $270
Location: Canmore Rec Centre & Canmore Collegiate High School

The camp is aimed at competitive youth skaters (L2T, T2T and Juniors) who wish to improve their technique. The laps are kept low at the camp, as the skaters focus on their technique, there is lots of video analysis of both the camp skaters and of world cup and Olympic athletes.

The Head coach for the camp is Sue Ellis from Rothesay, New Brunswick. Sue is a Level 4 NCCP coach, and 2002 US Olympic Short Track Team Head Coach. For more information about Sue and her camp, click on,, or

This will be a technical camp, the focus is working on skill development. The camp participants will watch video of Elite World Cup and Olympic skaters, and analyze the technique and motions that the skaters perform as they skate. The camp participants will then attempt to recreate the motions in dry land exercises and then transfer those skills to the ice. One of the main differences of this camp, is that the skaters will develop an understanding of the technique that they are trying to develop and why, they can then use this knowledge when they analyze their own skating in the future.

The camp will run from approximately 8:30pm – 4:30pm each day, with two ice times, dry land, video analysis, and one hour for lunch.

Registration form can be found here.

Date: Sept. 1 – 3, 2018

Location: Canmore Rec Centre – Thema Crowe arena

The camp is aimed at L2T and T2T skaters (approximately ages 9 – 15), but is open to all youth skaters . The skaters will all have two on ice sessions per day, skating in the cool confines of the Canmore Recreation Centre, plus, dryland activities outside in the beautiful Bow Valley.  The skaters will be placed into two groups, based on ability and age. The daily schedule runs from 8am – 3:30pm for older/more experienced skaters, and 9:00am – 4pm for younger/less experienced skaters.  Final schedules will be distributed to all skaters prior to the start of the camp
